Archives isn’t really a WS-project, but as the name suggests, it’s a collection of early works made by W.T. Salmela. The first release of Archives consists of nine volumes (1-9), of which any one could be an album of it's own. So, the total playing time of all the volumes is approximately a whopping seven hours! That’s 94 tracks.
Music is in MP3 format (320kb/s, 48kHz) and is supplied in a DVD. Archives was released in 2011 and is available only for chosen people...

All music in volumes 1-9 are produced with a Korg 01/W fd workstation synth. Yes, I made lots of stuff with it back then… All the pieces were re-recorded from a 01/W Pro synth, and some additional signal processing was applied to each piece to bring out the best of them. The collection is also a very comprehensive demonstration of the sounds of the Korg 01/W series. The music itself is very rich, both in styles and ideas, although it lacks a bit of production quality. You can very clearly hear from the material, that the music of W.T. Salmela wasn’t going to be limited to any specific genre.
The Archives library, however, isn’t a complete collection of the early works. Some pieces were deliberately left out and some are just missing, lost forever... Some of the missing material was later found in C-tapes and they will be added to the collection in future.
