Subtle Moves is kind of a continuation to the Enlightenment album, but it’s made with even more analog synthesizers. The music is very pleasing and ambient, moody but still melodic, and of course there are some rhythmic pieces as well. The most used drum machine on the album is the ancient, rare Donca-Matic Mini Pops (probably from the 60's) with it’s very original sound.
Subtle Moves is the most peaceful William Salmela album up to date, with gorgeous soundscapes made with a room-full of vintage analogue stuff (well, some digital too). There are massive orchestral synth sounds, haunting four-voice theremin chorus, emotional funeral-ambient-march, delicate love-ballad, powerful acid-sequence and so on… If you appreciate subtle nuances in music, you’re most likely to appreciate Subtle Moves.
Subtle Moves was already mastered in the fall of 2011. The album is still lacking cover art...
